Caravanners often love nothing more than escaping in their caravan for a few days at a moment’s notice, and its only natural that you want to extend this experience to your friends and family too, which is why Club Care policies include friends and family cover as standard.
So, as long as there is no payment or commercial gain to you for lending your caravan, then your caravan, awnings, equipment and contents are all covered with a Club Care policy regardless of who is using the unit at the time of the insured incident.
There are a few instances where your friends and family would not be covered, outlined below:
- Personal Belongings – Club Care will not provide cover for your own personal belongings when they are with someone else or for personal effects belonging to someone other than you and your family.
- Loss of Use – this cover is available for you and your family only and only comes into effect if there is an insurable loss under the conditions of the policy. It will not pay for accommodation or the cost of hiring a replacement caravan for friends.
- Public Liability – this is for the legal liability of you and your family only arising from the ownership or use of your unit. The policy does not cover the legal liability of friends unless Club Care has agreed in advance to extend the policy to do so.
- Personal Accident – this benefit is for the you and your family only and is not available for friends. If you lend your caravan to a friend and would like to arrange public liability arising from your friend’s negligence to be added to the policy then please call us on 0800 124 4633. We will then send a letter confirming that your friend is insured, which is free of charge in most instances.
